Cistern Water Collection Systems

Premier Land Design can customize a 1000 gallon or larger cistern water collection system for your yard. The captured water can be used when needed for drip irrigation and/or hand-watering of plants. Each cistern is made of concrete or plastic and buried completely, leaving only a small, aesthetically pleasing synthetic rock pump cover visible. An average rooftop can discharge hundreds of gallons of water with just a few hours of rainfall. Storing this water is a great way to conserve and irrigate during the dryer months.

Solar Powered Pump with Small Cistern or Rainbarrel

If your watering needs include a small area (patio garden, container garden) a custom designed mini-cistern or rainbarrel outfitted with a solar panel and pump may be what you need to conserve rainwater and keep your plants alive. As with the larger cistern systems, the mini-tanks (250 gallons or less) hold downspout runoff water underground until needed. A pressured solar power spigot is available for hand-watering or drip irrigation.
